Casablanca Room
Suggested Donation: $20
Please join us for this year’s Action Awards event, under our new name, Allergy Advocates NY and back in person for the first time since 2020. While our name has changed, our sharpened focus continues to be ensuring the safety of those is our community managing life threatening allergies.
Consistent with the room at ArtisanWorks, this year’s theme is from the movie Casablanca. Don your best 1940’s garb and join us for the festivities. As usual, Brenda Tremblay of WXXI-FM Classical 91.5 will be our guide for the evening.
You can look forward to a fun evening, celebrating the huge impact of this year's honorees and enjoying the return of the joy of each other's company while doing so. You'll be entertained by Rochester's own Ted Baumhauer performing a variation of Just a Little Scary Show, fresh off the Rochester Fringe Festival stage.
John J. Condemi Award Winner

Dr. Shrikhande practices at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical Center. She is a member of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and has presented research at major national Allergy and Immunology conferences.
We are grateful for her service as a Senior Medical Advisor to Allergy Advocates New York and is an active Board Member as well.
The John J. Condemi Award is given to medical professionals who have improved life, health and hope for individuals and families with life-threatening allergies through clinical treatment and new research.
Ruth T. Cornell Award Winner
The 2023 Ruth T. Cornell Award will be awarded to the Former New York State Assembly Member Tom Abinanti. During his time in Albany representing the 92nd Assembly District, he generously worked with the Allergy Advocacy Association to sponsor legislation to ensure the safety of New Yorkers managing life threatening allergies. As his strong advocacy for people with disabilities overlaps our mission, he was a great partner. With his help, several bills were signed into law, including the Emergency Allergy Treatment Act, the Nurse Authorized Stock Epinephrine Act and the Student Self Carry Act, among many others. We are grateful for his partnership.
The Ruth T. Cornell Award is given to those who have had a significant impact on their community through sustained commitment to advocacy and education.
